Draws take place for UEFA European Women’s Under-19 and Under-17 Championships

The draws for the first rounds of the 2025/26 UEFA European Women’s Under-17 and Under-19 Championships took place on Thursday morning.

2025/26 UEFA European Women’s Under-17 Championship Round 1 Draw

Malta, placed on Pot 3 for the League B draw, was drawn into Group B5, alongside Sweden and Lithuania. The draw promises a number of intriguing fixtures as the teams battle it out for promotion to League A.

League A contains 28 teams, including defending champions Netherlands, together with the seven teams promoted from League B after Round 2 of the 2024/25 edition. There are 21 teams in total in League B, which also includes the sides that were relegated from League A in Round 2 of the 2024/25 edition.

The group winners and the best runner-up will be promoted to League A.

Malta has been selected to host the mini-tournament, with the match to be played by 2nd December. The exact dates for each group will be set in due course.

2025/26 UEFA European Women’s Under-19 Championship Round 1 Draw

Malta has been drawn against Israel, Latvia and Kazakhstan in Group B6 of Round 1 of the 2025/26 UEFA European Women’s Under-19 Championship.

In total, there were 52 entrants, being split into League A (28 teams) and League B (24 teams) based on the rankings following the second round of the previous edition.

Malta was placed in Pot 3 for the League B draw.

The 24 League B teams, split into six groups, will compete for promotion up to League A. The group winners and the best runner-up in League B will be promoted.

Malta has also been selected to host this mini-tournament, with the matches to be played in principle between 20th and 28th October 2025 or between 24th November and 2nd December 2025.
