The draws of the First Phase of the Malta FA Jubilee Cup, supported by Enemed, were held on Wednesday 13th August 2025, marking the start of the milestone competition.

The competition, which is being organised to mark the Malta FA’s 125th anniversary, will see clubs from all divisions, as well as from other member associations, take part.

The format of the competition is explained through the video below:

The draws were held by Malta FA Football Operations Manager Stewart Said, together with David Carabott, the Malta National Team’s second-most capped player and also a winner of multiple domestic honours.

The First Phase of the competition involves 45 teams, which are then split into four groups: North, South, Gozo and Member Associations. In order for each group to not have more than 12 teams, the North and South groups will have to undergo a Preliminary Round.

In that round, two teams from each group were drawn, and the winner will qualify to the First Phase Knockout. For the North group, the Preliminary Round will see Għargħur FC face off against Dingli Swallows FC, while in the South group, Mqabba FC will take on St George’s FC. The Preliminary Round matches will take place on 30th and 31st August 2025.

Following that, the draws for the remaining rounds of the First Phase of the Malta FA Jubilee Cup were made. In the First Round, 12 teams in each group (North, South, and Gozo) will face each other for a place in the Second Round.

First Round Draws

In the Second Round, three matches will be played, with the three winning teams qualifying for the Second Phase of the competition.

Second Round Draws

For the Member Associations, the path is slightly different. Given there are seven Member Associations taking part, there will be three matches, with one of the teams drawn automatically qualifying to the Second Round. The team that was drawn in the automatic qualification spot was the team by the Inter Amateur Soccer Competition (IASC).

Member Associations Draws

As a result, once the First Phase is complete, there will be 10 teams in total that will make it to the Second Phase.

The Second Phase will see the introduction of clubs from the Malta Premier and the Challenge League, with the clubs battling it out for a place in the Final, which will take place on 8th December 2025.
