Malta will be hosting Israel in a friendly match on the 27th of September following the UEFA Nations League game away against Estonia.

The match will be played at the National Stadium, and kicks-off at 21:00.

Israel, who are currently ranked 76th, are still unbeaten in the UEFA Nations League and are currently enjoying top spot in League B Group 2.  They played three games, where they won against Albania and drew against Iceland both on home soil and away.  They are currently coached by ex Israel international player Alon Hazan.

This will be the 9th encounter between these two countries.  Israel won 6 times, while the game ended in a draw twice.  Israel and Malta met for the first time in a friendly match in 1984 in Jerusalem when Israel won 2-1.  Malta’s goal was scored by Charles Muscat.  The last time the two countries met was on the 11th of October 2011 at the National Stadium (Euro Ch Qualification) in Ta’ Qali when Israel won 2-0.

Previous to this encounter, Malta is hoping to win its last game in the UEFA Nations League League D Group 2 away against Estonia.  The game will be played at the Le Coq Arena in Talin  on Friday 23rd.  Currently Malta and Estonia are at par with 6 points each, however Estonia have played a game less.  Malta need a win to keep the hopes alive to pass on to the next round of the UEFA Nations League.
