Malta Futsal U19 drawn in Group A of U19 European Championship Preliminary Round

Malta Futsal U19 were drawn in Group A of the U19 European Championship Preliminary Round on Thursday, setting up a number of exciting encounters ahead of the 2025 finals in Chișinău (MOL).

In the Preliminary Round, Malta will be playing against Lithuania, the qualifiers' host nation, as well as Georgia and Germany. The only team to make it to the main qualifying round will be the eventual group winners.

The Preliminary Round also includes two other groups. The round's matches will take place between 21st and 26th January 2025.

Additionally, Thursday also saw the draw of the Main Round, which will be held between 25th and 30th March, take place. The winner of Group A of the Preliminary Round - the group Malta is in - will be drawn in Group 1 of the Main Round, where they will be facing group hosts Slovakia, together with Italy and Romania.

The winner of each group of the Main Round will then advance to the main stage of the competition, joining Moldova, the hosts of the tournament. Portugal are the holders of the competition, having won the title in 2023 with a victory over Spain.
