2026 EURO BEACH SOCCER LEAGUE – DIVISION B
18.07.2026, Batumi, Georgia

MALTA...2
ENGLAND...5

Malta suffered defeat in its third match of the 2026 Euro Beach Soccer League in Batumi, losing 5-2 at the hands of England.

The opening period was very positive for Malta, with Coach Indrek Palm’s side even taking the lead 18 minutes and 48 seconds into the game with a 20-metre strike from Bray.

England upped their game and scored twice in the final minute of the first period, with goals coming from a Johnson cross and a powerful free-kick from Black.

Malta started the second period well, pressing forward, with Caruana missing a golden opportunity from close range.

30 minutes and 25 seconds into the game, England were awarded another free-kick and Lawson made it 3-1.

Malta could have pulled on back four minutes later, but Bray was unlucky to hit the post with a superb shot.

England scored their fourth in the final 33 seconds of the second period. Another free-kick from Lawson found the top corner to make it 4-1. Less than a minute into the third period, England were awarded a penalty which Robinson converted perfectly to make it 5-1.

With a minute and 26 seconds left, Bray received a pass and controlled the ball perfectly, before firing it into the left corner, giving the England goalkeeper no chance, reducing the deficit.

Malta could have pulled another goal back 15 seconds from time, but a shot from Agius was brilliantly saved.

Malta will play its fourth and final match of the tournament on Sunday against Slovakia, with kick-off at 14:30hrs CEST.
