Coach Mendes Announces Final Squad for UEFA Tournament

Under 19 National Team Coach Antonio ‘Toze’ Mendes has made the final selection of 20 players who will participate in the UEFA Under 19 tournament which Malta is hosting between the 3rd and the 16th of July. 

Malta will be involved in the opening match against Italy on July 3rd at the National Stadium (kick-off 21:00).  The second match will be against Poland on July 6th at the Centenary Stadium (kick-off 21:15) and then will travel to the Gozo Stadium to meet Portugal on July 9th (kick-off 18:00).

The 20 players are:

GOALKEEPERS
Luca Camilleri (Mosta FC), Hugo Sacco (Olympique Marseille)

CENTRAL DEFENDERS
Jake Micallef (Boavista FC), Jake Vassallo (Mosta FC), Ivin Farrugia (Pieta Hotspurs FC), Tristan Viviani (San Diego State Aztecs), Mattias Ellul (St Andrews FC), Sven Xerri (Ħamrun Spartans FC)

MIDFIELDERS
Bjorn Buhagiar (Ħamrun Spartans FC), Andy Borg (Gżira United FC), Benjamin Hili (Balzan FC), Lucas Scicluna (Wolverhamptom Wanderers FC), Dylan Scicluna (Wolverhamptom Wanderers FC), Lucas Caruana (Sampdoria FC), Daniel Letherby (Corpus Christi FC), Brooklyn Borg (Gżira United FC)

Exciting Announcement: Innovative Squad Revealed! 

The Malta FA embarked on an innovative approach to unveil the squad for the upcoming UEFA Under 19 tournament.  To do this, the Communications Team behind this project engaged 20 celebrities who each announced a player. 

Breaking away from the traditional norm, the team expressed their gratitude by extending a special call-up to 20 remarkable celebrities. These stars graciously accepted the invitation, lending their support and encouragement to the players and the staff.  Heartfelt thanks goes to out to each of these incredible personalities for their involvement and belief in our young team.
