After their hugely impressive victory against Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, the Malta WU17 National Team were looking for a similar performance in the second of international friendlies between these two sides.

The opening 20 minutes were rather quiet with neither side making any headway as the visitors were proving a tougher nut to crack. However on 28 minutes Malta finally broke the deadlock when a shot by Amberley Borg was blocked by Anibali with the ball falling to Keziah Richard who calmly shot into the corner.

It was 2-0 on 36 minutes when captain Martina Mendez Vazquez made no mistake from a loose ball in the box to smash home. And right at the start of the second half, the hosts made it 3-0 through a fine effort by Martina Montebello Caruana.

The rout continued two minutes later when Malta won a penalty which was well-converted by Katrina Catania. It was 5-0 on 55 minutes when Amberley Borg smashed in from a goalmouth melee’. After that, Malta continued creating chances and added a sixth on 76 minutes when Katrine Jorgensen slammed home from close range after receiving from Elanya Mallia.

The seventh came just a minute later with Amy Muscat calmly slotting home with Malta in complete control. The hosts controlled with ease and even managed to substitute all players before the final whistle.
