In a remarkable green initiative organized by the Malta FA's FSR department, Team Costeau, Team Thunberg, Team Stella McCartney, Team Lucia Colo, and Team Hawken united to make a positive environmental impact on the Tony Bezzina Stadium and its surrounding areas. This collaborative effort, supported by Project Green, Ambjent Malta, and the Ministry for the Environment, aimed to promote sustainability and raise awareness about the importance of environmental conservation.

Arrival and Clean-Up Efforts

With the collaboration of Malta Public Transport, all participants arrived at the Tony Bezzina Stadium in a 100% electric bus, emphasizing the use of eco-friendly transportation. Upon arrival, the enthusiastic group, comprised of individuals from various Malta FA FSR projects, including Richmond Foundation, St. Patricks, FSWS, Football Inclusive Hubs, and dedicated volunteers, worked together to engage in a green clean-up activity.

Led by the Women's National Team coach, Manuela Tessa, and joined by Haley Bugeja and Maya Lucia, the participants worked diligently to restore the area's natural beauty by collecting litter and implementing sustainable waste management practices. This hands-on approach highlighted the importance of taking responsibility for preserving the environment.

Sustainability and Nourishment

As part of the sustainability drive, participants were given local traditional healthy snacks to promote the consumption of environmentally friendly and nutritious food choices.

Support and Information

Project Green, Ambjent Malta, and the Ministry for the Environment provided their support to the event, further emphasizing the importance of the initiative. In addition, participants were briefed and given information on the 3x11 Actions for Respect, empowering them with knowledge about sustainable practices and respect for the environment.

Through their collaborative clean-up efforts, sustainable transportation choices, and support from various organizations, the participants demonstrated their commitment to preserving and protecting the environment. This event serves as a shining example of how individuals and communities can come together to make a positive impact on the planet.
