While in Brussels for the UEFA Nations League draws, the Malta FA were invited to visit the training grounds of Standard Liège, the Belgian club where Maltese international Teddy Teuma currently plays, on Friday morning.

Malta FA Vice President Adrian Casha was welcomed and shown around by Football Operations Manager Quentin Gilbert. During the visit, he toured the club’s training facilities — simple yet well-equipped — proudly reflecting the club’s traditional red and white colours.

The complex includes four natural turf training pitches, one artificial pitch and an indoor pitch. The facilities are also equipped with sleeping quarters for the men’s first team, a fully functional kitchen, technical staff offices and meeting rooms, a press conference room, doctor’s quarters and physio area, as well as a large gym.

Vice President Casha attended the team’s MD-1 training session as Standard Liège prepare to face Royale Union Saint-Gilloise tomorrow at the Stade Maurice Dufrasne.

Casha held a brief meeting with Teuma, who is set to face his former teammates today in what promises to be a special encounter. He also had the opportunity to speak with Standard Liège head coach Vincent Euvrard following the session.

The visit highlighted the club’s strong mentality and professional environment, with players well looked after on a daily basis, including breakfast and lunch catering at the training centre.

Malta National Team Media Officer Pamela Schembri was also in attendance.
