Sliema Wanderers and Mgarr United latest clubs visited by MFA President

Welcomed by club President Keith Perry, President Vassallo was shown around the club's facilities in Tigne.

A brief bilateral meeting took place and various topics were brought up mainly on the importance of sustainability in football through the commercialization of sports facilities, the club's football nursery setup, and the opportunities that a joint venture to manage the Premier League could bring to all clubs participating at the topmost division of domestic football.

The Sliema Wanderers FC visit was followed by another visit, this time at Mġarr United FC.

A football club that can also boast of facilities of the highest standard, with a clear strive to step up in terms of infrastructure.

During the visit, the re-surfacing process of the club's artificial pitch and other ancillary works, which project is designated to be completed in the summer period, was raised and discussed.

Club President Emanuel Zarb thanked the MFA President for being on the front line in making this project possible and the MFA administration for the support being given to community football clubs like Mġarr United.

President Vassallo in a short address praised the Mġarr United committee for the diligent way in which they operate the club, also in terms of first-team football performances, with the club making it to the Quarterfinal round of the IZIBET FA Trophy.

During his visits the MFA President was accompanied by various candidates for the post of vice-president of the Association at next month's General Assembly.
