National Amateur League (Quarter Finals) and IZIBET FA Trophy (Preliminary Round) draws held today

The draws for the Quarter finals of National Amateur Cup and the Preliminary Round of the IZIBET FA Trophy took place on Wednesday, October 26^th, 2022, in the Centenary Hall.  This event was livestreamed on the Malta FA Facebook page.  The draws were conducted by the Director of Football Operations, Stephen Azzopardi.

National Amateur Cup

The quarter finals of the National Amateur Cup will be played between the 12 and 13^th of November 2022.  The teams were picked as follows:

The IZIBET FA Trophy

In total 30 teams took part in the IZIBET FA Trophy draw.  The 30 teams included: 18 Challenge League teams, 8 teams from Gozo FA Div 1 and the 4 winners of the National Amateur Cup Quarter Finals.  The first 24 teams were picked to play in the Preliminary Round of the IZIBET FA Trophy, whilst the remaining six teams that were not picked automatically, got a 'bye' and will go through the round of 32 of this competition. 

Amongst the 30 teams, there are also three previous FA Trophy winners; Sliema Wanderers who won the FA Trophy 21 times, Zurrieq FC and Melita FC who both won it once in their history.

 The Preliminary Round of the IZIBET FA Trophy looks as follows:

The six teams that automatically passed on to the next round were:

• San Gwann FC
• Sliema Wanderers FC
• Mtarfa FC
• Zejtun Corinthians FC
• Winners of Match 1 - National Amateur Cup (Mgarr United vs Siggiewi)

Most of the preliminary round matches will be played between the 6th and 8th of December 2022.
