Member Clubs at the heart of it all

On Tuesday, the Malta FA President Bjorn Vassallo visited two more football clubs thus keeping in touch with the Association’s member base

In Siggiewi he was welcomed by club President Mr Mario Caruana and club Secretary and MFA Executive Board member, Mr Robert Camilleri. With the club’s officials, the MFA President spoke about the ambitious infrastructural project the club is planning to develop shortly, to better its facilities adjacent to the football pitch.

President Vassallo also had the opportunity to follow closely a training session conducted by coaches from ‘Inħobb il-Football Foundation’, which is a TALENT Identification Programme for junior ages, conducted in two regional centres on the island.

Gareth Sciberras in his role of Chairman of the IFF (Inħobb il-Football Foundation’) Board of Administrators was also in attendance where he had the opportunity to discuss with the Malta FA President how the programme is providing tangible returns in terms of the opportunity created to young kids in showcasing their talent, nurtured by professional coaches, many of which former National Team players like Silvio Vella, John Buttigieg, Stefan Giglio and others, who were all in attendance and participated in Tuesday’s practise session.

The final visit on Tuesday saw the Malta FA President visit Pieta’ Hotspurs Football Club where he was welcomed by club President, Mr Mark Tanti and his Executive Committee.

A club renowned for a high-standard football nursery, focusing mainly on the development of football players from a very young age. The discussion at the Hotspurs’ boardroom mainly centred on topics related to technical aspects and on how clubs and associations can further collaborate.
