Last month, the Malta Football Association’s UEFA Pro Licence candidates were given a prestigious opportunity to take part in the UEFA Pro Licence Study Visit at the UEFA Headquarters in Nyon. The event brought together elite candidates from Czechia, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, as well as a cohort of female UEFA Pro coaches, creating a unique international learning environment.

Held between 28th and 30th October 2025, the study-visit featured insights from three renowned football figures: Ole Gunnar Solskjær, Roberto Martínez, and Martina Voss-Tecklenburg. Their contributions offered participants a rare, first-hand look at leadership, high-performance environments, and top-level coaching methodologies.
Complementing the keynote sessions, UEFA technical experts delivered workshops and facilitated mixed-group discussions, encouraging knowledge exchange, collaboration, and the sharing of best practices across different football cultures.

This initiative also served an important networking purpose for the Malta FA's candidates, who are currently in the final module of their UEFA Pro course. The Maltese delegation, accompanied by Herman Bugeja, Head of Coach Education, had the opportunity to present their work to the wider group, showcasing the coaching philosophy and development efforts underway in Malta.

Thanks to the joint support of UEFA and the Malta FA, this enriching experience has equipped our future Pro Licence coaches with new knowledge and perspectives that they will now apply within their clubs and coaching environments back home.
