Malta FA to host pre-season Summer Cup

Hamrun Spartans FC, Floriana FC, Sliema Wanderers FC and Marsaxlokk FC will feature in a knock-out tournament from the 6th to the 10th of August.

The Malta Football Association is organising a pre-season tournament involving the four teams who competed in the UEFA Club Competitions this season.

The 2024 Summer Cup kicks off on Tuesday, 6th August, with Marsaxlokk FC taking on current Premier League champions Hamrun Spartans FC at the Centenary Stadium. Sliema Wanderers FC meets Floriana FC on Wednesday, 7th August, at the Centenary Stadium, with both matches kicking off at 7.30 p.m.

The winners of the opening ties will progress to the final, scheduled for Saturday, at the National Stadium. Kick-off time will be announced in due course.

If a match ends in a draw, no extra-time will be played, and the tie will be decided directly by a penalty shoot-out.

As part of the promotion campaign for this event, the Malta FA plans to host two press conferences - the first on Monday to preview the opening games and the second on Friday, the eve of the final match.

Online: €8 - adult; €5 - child
At the door: €10 adult; €6 - child
