The Malta Football Association (MFA) would like to announce that it will be voting in favour of the 2030 World Cup, due to be held between Spain, Portugal, Morocco and with a number of matches in South America, and the awarding of the 2034 tournament in Saudi Arabia.

The National Associations members of FIFA shall cast their vote at a FIFA Extraordinary Congress today Wednesday, 11th December in the afternoon. The Malta FA President, Bjorn Vassallo, said, "it is interesting to see that for the first time in World Cup history the matches will be played on three different continents and this also means that the 2034 bid could have theoretically only come from either Asia or Oceania. In terms of the criticism towards human rights abuses in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, I am certain that this topic will continue to be debated by all interest groups, however there is enough time to implement the recommendations presented by the various working groups on human rights and for the Saudi authorities to abide by their obligations under international human rights law."

At the end of November, FIFA published the bid evaluation reports for 2030 and 2034 editions of the FIFA World Cup, which can be found through this link.
