Malta FA President Bjorn Vassallo presented the trophy and medals to Spain after winning the UEFA European Under-19 Championship, Europe’s top honour in the age category.

The Final took place on Sunday night in Wrexham, Wales, between Spain and Germany, with the former coming out on top with a 2-0 scoreline after goals in each half.

For the Spaniards, this was the 10th title won in the youth categories, with Hugo Lopez and Mario Rivas getting on the scoresheet. Germany pushed until the end to find a way through Spain’s defence, but they could not breach it.

Spain’s Quim Junyent won the Player of the Tournament award, and he was presented with the trophy by Vassallo in his capacity as Chairman of the UEFA Youth and Amateur Committee.

Vassallo also presented the Top Scorer award, the medals to the two finalists and the match officials, as well as the prestigious trophy to the winning team.
