The Malta FA has launched a public survey as part of the ongoing process to develop a new strategy for women’s football in Malta.

Women’s football has come a long way in the last decade and the Malta FA is firmly committed to sustaining this growth and further strengthening this sector in line with Goal 8 of the its four-year strategy.

The creation of a dedicated strategy for women’s football is being overseen by a working committee made up of representatives who are actively involved in different areas of women’s football. The committee is chaired by Dana Farrugia who represents women’s football on the Malta FA Executive Board.

The survey seeks to gather data and insights about ways to improve and professionalise women’s football in Malta across the whole spectrum. The findings will be presented to clubs, member associations, strategic partners, and public entities to give them a clear picture of the advantages and opportunities women's football has to offer, in the process increasing interest in the game which ought to spur greater investment, growth and sustainability.

The Malta FA strongly believes that it will be in a better position to assess the impact any changes might have on the football ecosystem through a public survey. In the coming months, the Committee will prepare a detailed report which will guide the Association in setting attainable and concrete goals for women's football with increased grassroots participation and the continued professionalisation of the sport remaining two key objectives.
