Draw held for Meridianbet FA Trophy Preliminary Round

The Meridianbet FA Trophy makes its return for another entertaining season next month.
The fixtures for the Preliminary Round of the Meridianbet FA Trophy were drawn on Tuesday, as the teams look for a place in the Round of 32.
The four Semi-Finalists of the BOV Amateur Cup will qualify for the Preliminary Round of the Meridianbet FA Trophy. The draws for the Quarter-Finals of the BOV Amateur Cup also took place on Tuesday, and can be viewed here.
The Preliminary Round of the Meridianbet FA Trophy will take place on 7th and 8th December 2024.
As was announced earlier this year, the prestigious FA Trophy, one of Malta's most iconic football competitions, is now being officially sponsored by Meridianbet Group.

Some of the most intriguing fixtures from the Preliminary Round include a clash between Sirens FC and Santa Lucia FC, two teams who were relegated from the top-flight last season, while Mġarr United FC will take on S.K. Victoria Wanderers. At the time of writing, the Gozitan side remains the only team from Malta's sister island to ever make it to the FA Trophy Semi-Finals.
Another eye-catching encounter is that between recently-relegated Valletta FC and Gozitan First Division champions Nadur Youngsters FC.

Additionally, 13 teams were automatically qualified to the Round of 32 after being awarded byes. These teams are: Żurrieq FC, Gudja United, Fgura United, Lija Athletic FC, Għajnsielem FC, Qala Saints FC, Marsa FC, Pieta' Hotspurs FC, Xewkija Tigers FC, Xagħra United, St Andrews FC, as well as the winners of matches two and three of the BOV Amateur Cup.
