Abdulai, Al Girbi win Assikura awards for October/November

Swieqi United's Salamatu Abdulai and Fatma Al Girbi, of San Ġwann, have won the October/November player of the month awards, powered by Assikura Insurance Brokers PCC Ltd.
 
The Assikura Player of the Month accolades for October and November highlighted the brilliant performances of Abdulai in the senior league and Al Girbi in the youth championship. Both players demonstrated skill, resilience, and dedication, earning them the prestigious recognition in their respective leagues.
 
Assikura Women's League - Salamatu Abdulai

Ghanaian forward Salamatu Abdulai has been a cornerstone for Swieqi United, showcasing her exceptional talent and knack for crucial goals. During the two-month period, Abdulai netted four goals in five matches, significantly contributing to her team's success.

These included the winner in a 1-0 victory over Mġarr United and a brace in the 3-0 win over Birkirkara.
 
Abdulai’s consistent displays have enriched her reputation as one of the league’s most impactful players for Swieqi United in their quest for silverware.
 
Assikura Women's Youth League - Fatma Al Girbi

On the youth league front, Fatma Al Girbi has been making waves for San Ġwann, emerging as the club’s top scorer with five goals to her name. Her contributions have been instrumental in keeping San Ġwann competitive and ambitious in the Assikura Women’s Youth League.

Two of her goals were against Mtarfa in a 3-2 victory while finding the net against Valletta too, with the Citizens being one of the best teams in the youth league this season. 
 
Al Girbi’s performances reflect her growing potential and importance to her team, making her one of the brightest young talents in the competition.

Andrew Grech and Micol Borg Hefford, representing sponsors Assikura, presented the awards to the winners at the company’s offices in Santa Venera. This is the third year Assikura Insurance Brokers PCC Limited are sponsoring the Women’s League and Women’s Youth League along with the Knock-Out competitions and the Super Cup.
