Draws held for 2025/26 Assikura Women’s League and Assikura Women’s Youth League

 The Assikura Women’s League and Assikura Women’s Youth League draws for the 2025/26 season took place on Friday, establishing the first matchdays as well as the sequence of fixtures for all the clubs across the competitions.

The draws were held at Centenary Hall at 11:00hrs, and were livestreamed on the Malta FA’s YouTube channel. Andrew Grech, Assikura Insurance Brokers Ltd Managing Director and Kelly Agius Pace, President of the Standing Committee for Women's Football, participated in the draws.

Six teams will be competing in each competition, promising a tight season with a number of high-profile clashes.

Both competitions will take place over four rounds, meaning each team will have played 20 matches by the end of the season.

The first matchday of the Assikura Women's League will take place between 21st and 23rd August 2025. On the other hand, the Assikura Women's Youth League will commence on 19th and 20th August 2025.

As a result, the opening matchday will see San Gwann FC take on Hibernians FC, Birkirkara FC face off against Valletta FC, and Mgarr United meet Swieqi United FC.
