The Refereeing Department within the Malta Football Association announces more referees’ appointments in foreign leagues at the weekend.

Elite Referee Mario Apap will be in charge of the Irish Danske Bank Premiership key relegation match between Ards and Ballinamallard United on Friday 11th April at 2000hrs at Clandeboye Park in Bangor, Northern Ireland.  Apap will be assisted by FIFA Assistant Referee William Debattista and Elite Assistant Referee Paul Apap, while FIFA Referee Clayton Pisani will carry out the duties of 4th Official.

Clayton Pisani has been appointed as referee of the derby match between Coleraine and Ballymena United being played on Saturday 12th April at 1500hrs at The Showgrounds in Coleraine.  Debattista and the Apap brothers will be assisting Pisani in this challenging match, which promises to attract a healthy crowd.

Meanwhile Elite Referee Trustin Farrugia Cann has been appointed as referee of the Lliga Nacional Champions’ Group match between UE Sant Julia and FC Lusitans, being played on Sunday 13th April at 1200hrs in Andorra.  Elite Assistant Referees Duncan Sultana and Jurgen Spiteri are the other members of this refereeing team led by Farrugia Cann.

International match officials Ignasi Villamayor, Hugo Jourdan and Laudino Lopez from Andorra were in charge of the GFA Melita Division 1 derby match between S.K. Victoria Wanderers and Victoria Hotspurs (1-1) on Sunday 6th April at the Gozo Stadium.  In this way, the referees’ exchange programme has been extended to our sister island with the collaboration of the Gozo Football Association.
