The campaign against match-fixing has been picking up momentum in European and global circles. The Malta Football Association is also doing its part in this exercise, particularly through the efforts of its Integrity Officer, Franz Tabone   Awareness of match-fixing practice aimed at combatting and eradicating it is also picking up. ‘Integrity Tours’ to MFA member clubs are being held throughout January and February, activities which provide our country’s football fraternity with an idea of what is being done in this respect. A singular awareness event is being held today, Sunday, 2nd February prior to the Mosta - Naxxar and Birkirkara - Valletta Premier League matches. It will consist of a symbolic entry of the four teams’ starting elevens and match officials on the pitch wearing T-Shirts displaying the slogan ‘Say No to Match-Fixing’. There will also be ball-boys entering the field of play carrying a banner with the same message. The ‘Tour’ events are an integral part of the Malta FA’s activities on the theme of eradicating match-fixing. The visits to all Premier and First Division clubs are being conducted by the MFA Integrity Officer and assisted by other officials of the association. The Malta FA’s commitment to raise such an awareness is in line with the aims of UEFA and FIFA to cleanse the game from a scourge that is nibbling at the core of the noble qualities of sport in general and football in particular.         Click here  to visit the Malta FA Integrity Tour FB Page
