UPGRADING OF WORKS IN VARIOUS STADIA

The increase of new football pitches and upgrading of amenities have given rise to constant works at the various venues. The MFA, with the co-operation of the clubs and other entities is monitoring these works.    These include the continuation of building works and the finishing of new facilities at the Victor Tedesco Stadium, Hamrun where tiling, silicato works, gypsum soffits and marble cladding are being finalised. By the end of July aluminium and steel works will be fixed while construction of seating for the disabled in sides A, B and C is in progress. Other work is being carried out mainly the removal of the old artificial turf to be replaced by another one.  The pitch at Luxol Stadium at St Andrew's is also being changed and it will be ready in time for the kick-off of the new football season, while a new stadium in Kerċem, Gozo, and St. Venera will add to the array of stadia. Upgrading works are also underway at the Hibernians Stadium, Kordin, where there will be new dressing  rooms, new entrances, a new VIP and Media areas as well as renovation of the stand. Many of these facilities are in progress and will be finished by the end of the calendar year. Upgrading at Gozo Stadium with new VIP and Media areas are also on the list of work being undertaken while facilities at Żebbuġ Rovers and St Lawrence Spurs are almost ready. With the Swieqi Utd. FC artificial turf pitch just inaugurated, a new pitch for Senglea Athletic in Ground C at Kordin will add to the impressive list of new and renovated football infrastrucure in Malta and Gozo
