ESTHER AZZOPARDI FOR UEFA WOMEN”S EURO 2013

FIFA Referee Esther Azzopardi is currently at the UEFA Headquarters in Nyon participating in a 3 day preparatory seminar for her participation in the UEFA Women’s European Chmapionship being held in Sweden between 10thand 28th July 2013.  Esther Azzopardi is one of 12 best female referees in Europe chosen to officiate at this Final Tournament, where 12 national teams will compete to win the title of European Champions. 9 of the match officials will act as referees while 3 will act as 4th Officials.  Esther Azzopardi has been assigned the role of 4th Official. This preparatory seminar involves various types of preparation, namely technical, physical and psychological.  Presentations with important topics such as handball, offside and obvious goal-scoring opportunities are being delivered by Pierluigi Collina, Bo Karlsson and Dagmar Damkova. The 12 top female referees are also being assessed physically and technically through fitness tests and video tests.
