MALTA’S BEST FOOTBALLERS TO BE HONOURED TODAY

Malta’s best footballers in all categories will be formally presented with glitzy awards for their achievements during season 2012-2013. President Norman Darmanin Demajo and the Malta Football Association’s top officials will honour the event by their presence during the ceremonial evening to be held at the MFCC Ta’Qali.   The crunch of the evening will be the announcement of the Footballer of the Year, the highest honour an individual footballer can achieve. New regulations in the selection system of the various awards were approved by the MFA Council. This meant that there will now be a more representative and streamlined system, with team captains, coaches, the association’s technical director, journalists and the public all having a say in the voting procedure. For the first time this year there is a new award. This is the President’s Award which will be presented to the recipient or recipients who in the opinion of the MFA president should be recognised for an outstanding contribution to the game. Another novelty during an evening which is bound to be a fitting occasion to bring the season to an end will be the draws of the BOV Premier League 2013-2104.
