The Malta FA’s Control, Disciplinary and Ethics Committee has today rendered its decision in relation to a reported assault on a match official which took place during the BOV Challenge League Group B match between Marsa FC and Pietà Hotspurs FC played on the 27th of February 2022 at the Centenary Stadium.   Marsa FC have been found guilty and therefore responsible for the violent conduct of their players and were fined €650. The Committee imposed also a deduction of 2 points effective immediately.   The Malta FA whilst showing solidarity with the match official in question, unequivocally condemns any form of violent behaviour and reiterates that violence has no place in football.  The decision is subject to appeal.
