Executive Board endorses solidarity payments distribution; discusses aspects of reputational risk

The Malta FA Executive Board has today approved the distribution of UEFA Solidarity Payments for 2020/21, which proceeds emanate from UEFA Club competitions and are earmarked for grassroots and youth development. The amount of just under €600,000 is distributed according to the clubs’ respective level of nursery license. In today’s meeting the Board has also endorsed a Reputational Risk Management policywhich will guide the Malta FA’s administration when dealingwith any affiliates who could pose possible reputational damage eapecially when these would befacing criminal charges. The policy catalogs the steps members ought to take to disclose such instances which would be assessed by the Association’s Ethics and Compliance Committee. A recommendation will then given to the Executive Board which would be competent to precautionarily suspend the individual. This initiative is part of the Association’s drive to ensure as much as possible that persons who are involved in the game are of good standing.
