U21 - Friendlies

The Malta U21 squad has completed another sweat-inducing training session in Slovenia, as Coach Gilbert Agius and his staff continue to prepare the squad ahead of Friday’s international friendly match against Bosnia and Herzegovina U21 at the Gradiski Stadium Velika Gorica, Croatia.

After being substituted due to injury sustained during the first half on Sunday’s friendly match, Zak Grech made a successful recovery and returned to training with his team mates.

Tuesday saw the entire squad back onto the training pitch led by the new Head Coach Gilbert Agius with some activation drills to get going, with a series of small-sided matches that triggered the players’ competitive streaks.

Malta played Friday’s opponents on three occasions at U21 level, with both sides winning a match each and the most recent encounter, in June 2019 at the National Stadium between the two sides ending up in a goalless stalemate.
