The Malta Football Association is seeking to employ Matchday Groundstaff to work on a part-time basis in the Football Operations Department.

 The selected candidate will form part of the Match Operations team and shall be reporting to Head of Match Operations and the Director Football Operations.


Key Objectives of the Role

To provide an appropriate service to supporters, VIPs, corporate guests, players, technical staff,  match officials, media and other matchday personnel by following the standards set out by the Malta Football Association in a most professional and dedicated manner. The role of the Matchday Groundstaff is pivotal in ensuring that the overall matchday experience is one to remember, providing excellent levels of customer service, whilst ensuring the safety of all who attend the stadium.


Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safety and comfort of all spectators and matchday personnel.

  • Carries out frisking and checking of spectators at the stadium entrances.

  • Operates turnstiles, gates and manages entrances to designated areas.

  • Directs supporters to seating areas.

  • Monitors the supporters and updates the supervisors and police to reduce the risk of crowd trouble.

  • Contributes in managing segregation of fans if required.

  • Identifies and investigates any incident involving spectators and informs superiors accordingly.

  • Assists as required in the evacuation of the stadium.

  • Manages the stadium parking areas if asked to do so.

  • Handles cash and credit cards, makes reconciliations and keeps records if assigned as a cashier. · Uses the ticketing system, prints tickets and provides customer care service to guests, media and other accredited persons if working in the ticketing section. · Provides all necessary support to VIP and corporate guests and assists in the management of hospitality and corporate events if allocated as a host or hostess.


Skills, Competencies and Requirements

  • Good communication skills

  • Excellent customer service abilities

  • Basic level of education

  • At least 18 years of age

  • Fluent in Maltese and English
