2020/21 domestic competitions – COVID-19 update

Due to issues related to COVID-19, Gudja United’s upcoming BOV Premier League fixtures – against Hibernians FC (5 January, 2021) and Gżira United FC (9 January, 2021) – will be rescheduled to a later date.
The matches are being postponed in accordance with the Malta FA special rules applicable to domestic competitions due to COVID-19. In line with the Malta FA Return to Play Protocol, the Association’s medical team promptly conducted the contact-tracing assessment after Gudja United FC reported that several players from their senior squad tested positive for COVID-19.
In the BOV Challenge League, Pembroke Athleta’s match against Naxxar Lions, scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 6 January, 2021, has also been postponed due to COVID-19 issues.
