The Malta Football Association is collaborating with the FARE Network in its international movement to promote social inclusion through football.  #FootballPeople is a global campaign aimed at tackling discrimination and celebrate diversity in football. The #FootballPeople weeks unite supporters, clubs, players, minority groups and communities affected by discrimination to stand for equality and inclusion. For a number of weeks in October, 150,000 people are taking part in the #FootballPeople events in over 60 countries, including Malta. The Malta FA, through its Football Social Responsibility Department, highlighted its participation with a pre-match activity before yesterday’s BOV Premier League matches – Ħamrun Spartans vs Balzan and Sliema Wanderers vs Birkirkara – at the Centenary Stadium, and the distribution of promotional material in a number of schools. In the coming weeks, the Malta FA will be finalising a partnership agreement with the Agency for the Welfare of Asylum Seekers. The Malta FA has always believed that the game of football is fundamental for the meaningful social inclusion of the communities regardless of age, gender, race and ability.
