Norman Darmanin Demajo has announced that he will not be seeking re-election as President of the Malta Football Association when his third term expires in July.  Darmanin Demajo, who was elected to the helm of the Malta FA in 2010, succeeding Dr Joe Mifsud, made the announcement at the meeting of the Association’s Council, being held on Tuesday. “I have always stated that any announcement related to my position would be made in the appropriate fora,” Darmanin Demajo said. “Today I'd like to announce that I will not be contesting the election of Malta FA President at the next Annual General Meeting. “I’m stating my position several weeks in advance to dispel any doubts about my intentions. “I take the opportunity to thank all those who have worked with me over the past nine years." Meanwhile, Dr Angelo Chetcuti, the Malta FA General Secretary, announced that the 2019 Annual General Meeting will take place on July 20.
