Leaders Birkirkara will make sure of retaining the Women’s League title if they manage to obtain at least a point from tonight's high-profile encounter with Hibernians at the Centenary Stadium (kick-off 20.15).    Birkirkara are coming from a 2-0 victory over Kirkop United that moved them within a point of claiming their third straight championship. Veronique Mifsud and Ylenia Carabott scored the goals in the win over Kirkop as Birkirkara reached the 50-point mark. Meanwhile, second-placed Mġarr United have temporarily narrowed the gap to three points after defeating Kirkop United on Monday. Abigail Camilleri and Amber Grech put the Mġarr girls two goals up in the first half before Charlene Cassia and Brenda Borg wrapped up the victory. Mġarr now have 47 points but have played a game more than Birkirkara. Hibernians, currently third on 32 points, have had a disappointing campaign but they will be looking to delay Birkirkara's title celebrations and possibly reopen the issue ahead of the latter’s fixture against Mġarr United next week. In Section B, Raiders (Luxol) defeated Fgura United 3-1 to move top on 28 points. Swieqi United meet Mosta in Wednesday’s only fixture from the league.  STANDINGS Section A Birkirkara 50 points (after 18 matches); Mġarr United 47 (after 19); Hibernians 32 (after 18); Kirkop United 17 (after 19). Section BRaiders 28 (after 18 matches); Swieqi United 25 (after 17); Mosta 5 (after 18); Fgura United 5 (after 19).  PLAYED YESTERDAYFgura United vs Raiders (Luxol) 1-3 Mġarr United vs Kirkop United 4-0 TODAY (TUESDAY) – 20.15Hibernians vs Birkirkara – Centenary Stadium  TOMORROW (WEDNESDAY) - 20.15Swieqi United vs Mosta – Mġarr Ground
