The Malta FA Competitions Department has issued the last-day fixtures of the 2018-19 BOV Second Division championship.

Three clubs are in contention to win the championship heading into Saturday’s final fixtures with St George’s and Fgura United sharing top spot on 50 points followed by Mġarr United two points adrift.

St George’s face fifth-placed Birżebbuġa St Peter’s this Saturday, Fgura United meet Sta Venera Lightnings and Mġarr United take on Kalkara.

The top two teams gain automatic promotion while the third-placed team will accede to a play-off against the side finishing third from bottom in the First Division.

In the event that Fgura United and St George’s finish with the same total of points, they will face each other in a title decider on April 26 at the Centenary Stadium – kick-off 7pm.

In the lower end of the table, Siġġiewi have already been relegated, Sta Venera Lightnings are second from bottom on 16 points but still in with a chance to avoid relegation while Luqa St Andrew’s (20) and Żabbar St Patrick (19) are not safe yet.

Luqa SA and Żabbar St Patrick will be involved in a direct encounter on Saturday with the side finishing third from bottom moving into a relegation-promotion play-off against Msida St Joseph, the third-placed team in the BOV Third Division championship.
