Luxol produced a brilliant performance to take the lead in the best-of-five elite play-off series after beating rivals Valletta Futsal 6-1 in front of a sizeable crowd at the Corradino Pavilion on Friday.  Luxol made their intentions clear from the outset, racing into a three-goal advantage in the first half thanks to Celino Alves’s brace and Emil Andrei’s accurate shot from the second penalty spot. When the second half got underway, Valletta tried to stage a reaction but Luxol held firm. They sealed their win with three more goals, Maicon Silva hitting a brace and captain Mark Zammit also putting his name on the scoresheet. A minute from the end of the match, Jovica Milijic scored a consolation goal for Valletta after Camilo Gomez had missed from the second penalty spot. The second play-off is scheduled to take place on Tuesday at the Corradino Sports Pavilion, starting at 20.15. PROMOTION PLAY-OFFSThree promotion play-offs were played last week with the University of Malta Students Team playing twice. In the first encounter, they lost 6-4 against Tarxien Rainbows but bounced back to beat newly-crowned First Division champions Pietà Hotspurs 6-5. Pietà also played against Swieqi United U-21, winning 5-2. NEXT FIXTURESTuesday 20.15 – Corradino Sports Pavillion Elite Play-Off Final (Game 2)Luxol vs Valletta Friday 20.15 – Corradino Sports Pavillion Elite Play-Off Final (Game 3)Valletta vs Luxol
