Addressing a gathering at the Centenary Hall on the occasion of the signing of an agreement which will provide the MFA clubs with funds to build and improve their facilities, the association’s president Norman Darmanin Demajo was pleased to announce he had just received news that UEFA chief Michel Platini will be visiting Malta on 31 March. The visit will co-incide with the inauguration of the Fgura football pitch as part of the MFA and UEFA-assisted project of building and improving club facilities in our islands where several new facilities have been set up.  This is the second visit in three years to Malta by the UEFA president, an event which demonstrates the great interest the top man at UEFA shows for the development of football through the mushrooming of new facilities at grassroots and club levels. The MFA is committed to continuing its  work in this direction so that its member clubs will not only have better pitches and club facilities at their disposal but will also be in a position to administer these facilities in an efficient way as the principle of financial fair play demands. During his visit to Malta Platini will be shown around the various newly-laid football pitches in Malta and possibly also those in Gozo.   A programme of this visit will be announced in due time
