Malta’s next friendly home match against Northern Ireland scheduled to be played on the 6th February 2013 has been confirmed. The match will serve as preparation for the two competitive away commitments Malta will have the following month in the World Cup 2014 Brazil Group B against Bulgaria and Italy on the 22nd and 26th of March respectively.  The match against the Irish team will be on the back of Malta’s last friendly against Liechtenstein which our team won away from home earlier in November. This was the fifth successive win for our national team in friendly matches. Meanwhile the women’s team will be engaged in an away friendly against Cyprus in January. The Maltese girls are also on a positive trail in friendly encounters having won their last three matches.  There will also be a friendly match for Malta's Under 21 team who will be facing Austrian counterparts on the 6th February at the Hibernians Stadium.
