Champions Valletta maintain perfect start in futsal

The Malta FA Futsal League continued last week with another full programme.

Luxol emerged on top from their direct encounter with neighbours Swieqi United, winning 3-1, while champions Valletta achieved an 8-3 victory against the University of Malta Students Futsal Team.

At the National Sport School’s Pavillion, Luxol and Swieqi United showed a good level of futsal.


Captain Mark Zammit, Celino Alves and George Frendo were on target for Luxol. Swieqi United’s consolation goal came from Stefan Camilleri.


At the Corradino Sport Pavilion, Valletta again proved too strong for the Universitarians as the champions maintained their perfect record.


Jovica Milijic scored a hat-trick for Valletta with the other goals coming Daniel Saliba, Dylan Musu, Camilo Andres Vanegas Gomes, Denis Di Maio and Mohamed Lamari.


Lee Grech scored a brace for UOM Students while Daniele De Gennaro got the other goal.


Luxol are sharing top spot with Valletta on 24 points but the latter have a game in hand.
