New faces in Malta U-21 squad for Albania friendlies

Malta Under-21 coach Silvio Vella has announced his 20 man squad for the double away friendly fixture coming up next week against Albania.  A new start for the Under-21 team following the end of their 2019 UEFA U-21 Championship Group Six qualifiers. Andreas Vella, Jean Borg, Kurt Shaw, Michele Sansone, Myles Beerman, Matthew Guillaumier and Jan Busuttil are still eligible to represent Malta at Under-21 level and all have been named in Vella's squad. The rest of the players are all new faces as coach Vella and his assistant Noel Turner will be assessing the new-look squad in the Albania friendlies (November 16 and 19) ahead of the start of the new competition early next year. The Malta Under-21 contingent are due to travel to Albania on Wednesday. MALTA UNDER-21 SQUADGoalkeepers – Timothy Aquilina (Sliema Wanderers FC), Andreas Vella (Mosta FC) . Defenders – Jean Borg (Valletta FC), Kurt Shaw (Sliema Wanderes FC), Connor Zammit (Hibernians FC), Zachary Cassar (Senglea Athletics FC), Michele Sansone (Sliema Wanderers FC), Nicholas Pulis (Valletta FC), Zachary Karl Grech (Pembroke Athleta FC).  Midfielders – Myles Beerman (Birkirkara FC), Matthew Guillaumier (Birkirkara FC), Jamie Zerafa (FK Indjija), Andrea Borg (Kettering Town FC), Joseph Mario Vella (Victoria Hotspurs FC, David Xuereb (Hibernians FC), Aidan Jake Friggieri (St Andrews FC), Jan Busuttil (Pieta Hotspurs FC), Jan Tanti (San Gwann FC).  Forwards – Zachary Brincat (Mosta FC), Bradley Schembri (Hamrun Spartans FC).
