Defending champions Birkirkara will be looking to add another victory to their tally as they meet Swieqi United in their second BOV Women's League commitment, at the Żebbuġ Ground tomorrow (kick-off: 8.15pm).

The Stripes opened their title defence with a 2-0 win over Hibernians last week.

Newly-signed Kailey Willis and Raina Giusti grabbed a goal each to secure a winning opener for Melania Bajada's team. Like last week, the former Birkirkara player can bank on experienced players like Janice Xuereb, Stephania Farrugia and Ylenia Carabott for their match against Swieqi in order to claim maximum spoils from this tie.

Swieqi, on their part, left it late to chalk up a victory on opening day with a brace from Yolande Attard on minute 87 and minute 89 against Mosta. Attard looks to be one of Swieqi's main threats and recently, she was capped by the national team as well against Hungary earlier this month.

Birkirkara's rivals, Hibernians, will be keen to bounce back to winning ways when they cross swords with Raiders (Luxol), tonight. The Paolites endured a 2-0 loss against Birkirkara last week and will be keen to take their first win of the season in order to keep track of the Stripes. Neil Zarb Cousin's team will have defender Charlene Zammit unavailable for selection after she was given the marching orders, last week.

Last week, Raiders started the 2018/2019 campaign with a 1-1 draw against Kirkop United as both teams look set to challenge each other for fourth spot, once again. Raiders' scorer was Leanne Micallef, who will be striving to help her side take something from this encounter.

Meanwhile, another tie which promises to be interesting is that which will see Kirkop face Mġarr United. The Reds drew with Raiders 1-1 last week, with Paula Andrea from Colombia scoring their goal which earned them a point. On the other hand, Mġarr opened their domestic commitments in style with a 6-0 drubbing of Fgura United. Among the scorers, there was Malta international Brenda Borg who grabbed a brace.

Elsewhere, Mosta and Fgura United will face each other in a match between two teams who suffered defeats on Match Day One, last week.
