Friendly match paves way to Cuschieri’s PSV move

Malta international Rachel Cuschieri made another important step in her footballing career after joining Dutch club PSV Vrouwen on a two-year contract.   Cuschieri, who was presented to the media on Tuesday at the famous Philips Stadium, joins PSV after a one-year spell with RSC Anderlecht, for whom she scored six goals on the way to the Belgian title. We caught up with the creative midfielder who is in the final stages of her rehabilitation after suffering a fractured tibia earlier this year. “This transfer came about after playing in a friendly match between Anderlecht and PSV,” Cuschieri said. “It seems that I left a good impression as PSV asked me if I would be interested in joining them at the end of the season.
