Title at stake as Birkirkara and Hibs meet on final day

Birkirkara and Hibernians will give life to an intriguing final day in this season’s BOV Women's League as they face each other on Wednesday night with the championship at stake.  The title showdown will be played at Mosta’s Charles Abela Stadium (kick-off: 8.15pm).  Separated by just one point, the Stripes, reigning champions, lead the way on 46 points followed by Hibs on 45.  The two historic rivals in women’s football have already met twice this season. The first encounter ended in a goalless stalemate while the Paolites emerged winners 1-0 in the second round. This win had enabled Hibs to overtake Birkirkara at the top of the championship only to slip back to second after being held by Mġarr United 0-0.
