TARXIEN RAINBOWS 0ST ANDREWS             0 On a dramatic evening, St Andrews and Mosta made sure of retaining their BOV Premier League status, Tarxien Rainbows will be involved in a relegation/promotion play-off with Żejtun Corinthians and Naxxar Lions have been relegated.  St Andrews accomplished their mission after gaining the point they needed in a goalless draw with Tarxien at the National Stadium. In a match of few chances, the Rainbows had a good opportunity on 21 minutes when Eduard Calin hit the crossbar with a free-kick from the right. Ten minutes from half-time, Sean Cipriott’s cross-shot from the left dropped on the crossbar before being cleared. BOV player of the match: Kemmu Degran Jackson (St Andrews). FUTILE WIN NAXXAR LIONS        3SENGLEA ATHLETIC 0 Naxxar Lions have lost their BOV Premier League status despite ending their league commitments with a 3-0 victory over Senglea Athletic at the Centenary Stadium. The Lions finished on 22 points, a point behind Tarxien Rainbows. Naxxar were all over their opponents in the first half. Brazilian striker Yuri de Messias netted two quick goals in the eighth and 12th minute followed by a Manolito Micallef header in the 33rd minute who made it 3-0. Throughout the match, Senglea created very little in Naxxar’s half with the Lions finding little trouble keeping their opponents at bay. BOV player of the match: Yuri de Messias (Naxxar Lions). MOSTA STAY UP SLIEMA WANDERERS 0MOSTA                          1 Mosta kept their top-division status after pulling off a narrow win over Sliema Wanderers to join Senglea Athletic on the 26-point mark. Mosta scored the winner just before half-time. Thomas Veronese’s cross was met by Giordano Trovade who slotted the ball past Sliema goalkeeper Glenn Zammit. On the 65 minutes, Mosta were reduced to 10 men after Zachary Brincat collected a second yellow card but they held out to secure a crucial win. BOV player of the match: Frenci Qeros (Sliema Wanderers).
