Second-half goals give Malta U-19 team 3-0 win

MALTA U-19                   3GREECE EPS PELLAS    0 The Malta Under-19 team ended their group commitments at the Torneo Roma Caput Mundi on a positive note after beating Greece EPS Pellas 3-0 for their first win on Thursday afternoon.  After a goalless first half, the Maltese youngsters found their scoring touch in the second, netting three times in a 10-minute spell. Ayrton Attard fired Malta ahead on 55 minutes and St Andrews forward Alexander Satariano, who had come on as a substitute, made it 2-0 six minutes later. Attard, who is on the books of Birkirkara, sealed Malta’s win when converting a penalty on 65 minutes. This was Malta’s first victory in Group B following back-to-back defeats to Albania (5-1) and the Lazio Regional Selection (2-0). Albania and Romania will contest Friday’s final in Ostia after winning their respective groups. MALTA U-19 FORMATIONDuncan Formosa (40 Rashed Al Tumi), Liam McKay, Dejan Debono, Ayrton Attard, Christian Gauci (4 Matthew Portelli), Shaun Dimech, Paul Mbong (70 Clyde Bouvet), Carlo Zammit Lonardelli (66 Jamie Sixsmith), Bradley Sciberras, Andreas Vella, Adam Magri Overend (54 Alex Satariano).
