Football For Life – Malta FA backs L-Istrina campaign

The Malta FA made a donation of €12,000 to the Malta Community Chest Fund during the Christmas period. Norman Darmanin Demajo, the Malta FA President, presented the cheque to President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca during a reception held at Villa Arrigo. The contribution in aid of L-Istrina is part of the MFA's Football for Life programme which encompasses several social responsibility initiatives during the year. In season 2016-17, the Malta FA committed over €30,000 towards good causes under its Football For Life programme. REFS ACADEMY RAISES MONEY FOR PUTTINU CARES Meanwhile, current and former students of the MFA Referees Academy played a friendly match for charity just before Christmas. After the match, the participants collected money in aid of Puttinu Cares. The Referees Academy members presented the donations together with an official referee shirt signed by all participants and donors to Puttinu Cares at Mater Dei Hospital's Rainbow Ward on New Year's Eve. Administrators of the Referees Academy and members of the Recruitment Unit within the Malta FA, namely Paul Caruana, James Farrugia and Franco Cachia, accompanied the group during their visit to Mater Dei Hospital.
