Luxol St Andrews opened their commitments in Group Eight of the Main Round of the UEFA Futsal Cup with a 5-2 defeat against Romanian champions FC Deva. Despite deploying the flying keeper tactic continuously, the Maltese team found it had to put their opponents under pressure. FC Deva raced into a 3-0 half-time lead and further increased their advantage before St Andrews pulled one back through Rogerio Dos Santos Filho. After Deva profited from Luxol’s use of the flying keeper to make it 5-1, Rogerio scored his second for St Andrews as the game ended 5-2. On Thursday at 3.30pm, St Andrews have another difficult match against Azerbaijan’s Araz who beat Bosnian team Mostar 5-2 in their opening game.
