It’s now down to four clubs. Floriana FC, Sliema Wanderers FC, SK Victoria Wanderers and Tarxien Rainbows will be aiming to reach the final of this season’s FA Trophy competition when the semi-finals are played on Saturday, May 13. The four contenders have been eagerly waiting to discover who they will face in the next round but the wait will soon be over as the draw of the FA Trophy semi-finals will be held on Monday, May 8.   The draw, to be streamed live on the Malta FA Facebook page, will be held at the National Stadium, commencing at 11am. Sliema Wanderers, who have won the FA Trophy a record 21 times, will be looking to retain the honour. The Blues secured their place in the semi-finals after beating Senglea Athletic 3-2 on penalties in the previous round. Floriana, 19-time FA Trophy winners, advanced after overcoming Ħamrun Spartans 2-0 while Tarxien Rainbows edged out Balzan, last year's beaten finalists, by the odd goal in three. SK Victoria Wanderers are treading new ground as they are the first Gozitan club to reach the semi-finals of the FA Trophy. In the quarter-finals, SK Victoria Wanderers defeated Pembroke Athleta 2-0 at the Gozo Stadium. The FA Trophy final is scheduled for May 20 at the National Stadium.
