The MFA regrets to see that a number of supporters were caught up exposed in the torrential rain that fell precisely around kick-off time of the match against Iceland. The Association had informed in advance that it would facilitate supporter movement to the enclosure sectors in case of inclement weather. There were reasons that determined decisions on how and when spectators were to be allowed to move from the Millennium to the West Stand. Firstly, there were a number of fans who had already bought their tickets through pre-sales for the West Stand at €15 and others who bought tickets for Millennium at €10. Therefore, the interest of those who paid more for their ticket had to be balanced with the wellbeing of supporters most affected in the Millenium Stand. Secondly, seating capacity in Stand West C (considering the amount of pre-sold tickets, complimentary tickets, and GOAL CARD holders) stood at about 60%. For this reason, attendance could not be predicted until moments before kick-off. Notwithstanding, gates that allowed supporter movement were opened up as soon as the match started. The Association would like to show its appreciation towards those who attended yesterday's match and in particular those with the South End Core, who kept supporting our lads throughout the 90 minutes. While appreciating the fact that it was frustrating for some spectators at the Millennium Stand, the MFA would like to thank these fans, and will strive to safeguard the interest of all, irrespective of their choice of ticket category.FORZA MALTA
