These Games concern solely water sports and beach sports aiming at bringing together young athletes of the Mediterranean, giving them the opportunity to participate in more sporting events, and attracting the elite in the relevant disciplines.

The Beach Soccer Competition will begin on the 2ndof September and end on the 6th to coincide with the closing ceremony.  It will be played at Pescara’s Arena del Mare on the Eastern Italian coastline.

Italy is fresh off a fourth place finish in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Portugal 2015 and they have been drawn in Group Awith Lebanon, Algeria, and Tunisia; one of the top African sides, Morocco, heads Group B with Egypt, Syria, and Malta; while in Group C one finds two European rivals France and Greece, who will have to face Libya and Albania.

These groups will finally lead to classify teams from 1st to 8th place.

The competition will be under the auspices of the Federazione Nazionale Giuoco Calcio (FIGC) and the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
