STOP WAR PLAY FOOTBALL

 One of the latest slogans which the game promotes to further positive principles in a world where injustices and all sorts of discrimination and hatred are rife is ‘Stop War and Play Football’.  This slogan is the brainchild of the Italian military mission currently engaged as part of the EUTM European Union Training Mission in Somalia. In recent days this mission has provided the population of this African nation  with material donated by the Association of Italian Knights of the SMOM and by several other sports organisations, all within the initiative of cooperation between Italy and Somalia. One of the donations comprises the project ‘Stop War Play Football” and is made up of football entities under the aegis of the Italian Serie B in conjunction with the Malta Football Association and other organisations, amongst which the Malta Youth FA is also an integral part. The Italian Ministry of Defence has acknowledged the Maltese participation in this project and has praised this initiative from our part.
